Meet Fred Murphy, MA, MS, LCMHC
Frederick DeShon Murphy, LCMHC, is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with more than 18 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and practical tools.
Fred has worked across a range of clinical and community settings, including Northside Hospital, Devereux Treatment Facility, Mission Hospital, Atrium Health, and Johnson C. Smith University. He also has extensive experience in private practice with an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) focus, supporting clients navigating stress, burnout, work-life balance concerns, and major life transitions.
In addition to his clinical work, Frederick travels nationally providing presentations on Historical Trauma in Communities of Color by the utilization of film, helping audiences better understand how generational stress, systemic inequities, and lived experience can impact mental health and well-being.
